Neşet Ertaş Culture Center

Neşet Ertaş Cultural Center was designed by interrogating the relationship between the city and Anatolia. The fact that Kırşehir has typical characteristics of terrestrial climate has brought certain sensitivities in the form and material selection. In particular, a rectangular plan was positioned in the west-east direction, and northern facade was formed closely to not allow heat loss. An inviting building was designed instead of a closed cultural center. It is thought that cultural activities can continue not only as spatial necessities but also as dynamic phenomena spreading out to the city.

The building has a “Concert and Theater Hall” for 1000 people and a “Multi-Purpose Hall” for 200 people which has a total construction area of 18,000 m2. There are seminar halls, foyers and exhibition halls supporting the halls where the spatial qualities are different but the service spaces and circulation solutions are similar. The structure which is intended to be the highest type of public use has open spaces for workshops and association rooms enriched by inner garden.
