Konya Sports Hall

Konya which is a growing and developing city with many attractions and has desire to host national and international competitions lead to the idea of constructing a gymnasium with a capacity of 10 000 people. The gynasium is planned to be located which is linked to the existing rail system is on a main road that is convenient to the tourist attraction sites.

The main design criteria is based on the transportation convenience. 5 shell structures were aimed to unite in order to provide pedestrian ways. These main shells act as a shelter to the audience meeting platforms by covering each other. The forms unite each other by glass surfaces. The pedestrian ways, athlete, referee, press and protocol entrances are defined on these surfaces.
